A few months ago, the Manso Nkwanta District Police Command was upgraded to a divisional command with support from the Minerals Development Fund.
The new command serves both Amansie West and Amansie South districts under Ashanti South region.
According to Hon. Prince Manu Morris, the establishment of the command has led to a reduction in criminal activities and improved security across Amansie West.
He recounted how armed robbers had previously attacked drivers and passengers on various link roads from Kumasi to the district.
Speaking after presenting a Nissan pickup vehicle to the district patrol team of the Manso Nkwanta Police Command, the DCE commended the Inspector General of Police, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Ashanti South Regional Police Command, Minerals Development Funds, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah, paramount chief of Manso Nkwanta traditional Council and other key stakeholders for their support in establishing the divisional command.
