Over six hundred branch executives of the NDC in the Asante Akyem North Constituency on Thursday, 24th September 2026, joined aspiring constituency chairman, Mr. Solomon Yumandam Sawakini and his team of aspirants vying for various positions in the party to file their nomination forms at the party office in Agogo.

The team and the branch executives, drawn from branches in various communities, walked through the principal streets of Agogo as a way of rebranding the party to the people of Asante Akyem North.

Mr. Solomon Yumandam Sawakini, speaking on his eight (8) years experience as Constituency Secretary, revealed some lapses which he believes have affected parliamentary candidates who contested for the seat from 2016 to 2024.

He said, chairmen and some executives of the party openly declared support for particular parliamentary aspirants, so after the internal elections if their preferred aspirant lost, it created division among them and affected the kind of support needed to win the seat for the party.

He assured to use his leadership to stop such behaviours in the party and unite members to always rally behind whoever is chosen as parliamentary candidate to win the seat in the 2028 general elections.

Some of the aspirants also vying for various positions who believe in Mr. Solomon Yumandam Sawakini’s vision to rebrand the party shared their readiness to support him and appealed to party delegates to vote massively for them.
