Kumasi, Ashanti Region — April 28, 2026
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, is in the Ashanti Region today Tuesday 28,April 2026, to inspect ongoing major road projects as residents appeal for urgent attention to deteriorating roads in the Manso enclave, Bosomtwe, and Kwabre areas.
Among the key projects on the Minister’s itinerary are the *Suame Interchange* and the *Anwiankwanta–Ahenema Kokoben road*. Other road works are also scheduled for inspection during the visit.
The tour comes as residents across the region use the opportunity to draw the Minister’s attention to poor road networks affecting economic activity and safety. Communities in the *Manso enclave, Bosomtwe District, and Kwabre East Municipality* are specifically appealing for rehabilitation of their roads, citing difficulty transporting farm produce and accessing healthcare and schools, especially in the rainy season.
Mr. Agbodza is expected to address the media after the inspections on government’s plans to complete stalled projects and initiate new ones under the 2026 budget.
The Suame Interchange is a flagship project aimed at easing congestion in Kumasi. The Anwiankwanta–Ahenema Kokoben stretch links key farming communities to the Kumasi–Obuasi highway. Road works in parts of Ashanti were suspended in 2024 due to funding constraints.
