I Want to See a Tarred Road in Manso Before I Die– 103-Year-Old Woman Appeals to Mahama

A 103-year-old woman, Madam Abena Gyantoa of Manso Tetrem in Amansie West district,Ashanti region has made a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to construct a tarred road for the Manso enclave before her death.

She said, she has lived for over a century without seeing a tarred road in her community.

She expressed worry that with her days numbered, the poor road network remains a source of distress and revealed how several governments have failed in their promises made to them.

_“I am over 100 years old and I have never seen a tarred road here. My days are numbered to join my ancestors, but the state of our roads worries me,”_ she said.

Madam Gyantoa and some residents made the appeal when the Amansie West DCE, Hon. Prince Manu Morris, and staff of the Department of Feeder Roads, Ashanti region paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Manso Tetrem, Nana Akwasi Okoh, during an inspection of poor road networks in the district to be submitted to the road minister for rehabilitation.

Responding, Hon. Prince Manu Morris commended government for efforts being made to rehabilitate poor roads in the district.

He however urged the people to support the government of the day without political colors to do more for them.
