Concerned Farmers of Kunadu, Adanpa, Car Owner Demonstrate Over Destruction Of Crops By Cattle

Concerned farmers of Kunadu-krom, Car Owner, Adanpa, and surrounding villages in Afram Plains South Eastern Region have demonstrated to express their displeasure over the destruction of their farm produce by cattle belonging to nomadic Fulani herdsmen.

The demonstration was led by the Odikro of Kunadu-krom with support from the Pitiku traditional council.

The farmers lamented the threats, rape, and other social vices they suffer at the hands of the Fulani herdsmen.

Some residents emphasized that if nothing is done to sack the Fulani from their land, they will advise themselves accordingly.

The Odikro of Kunadu-krom,Nana Kwaku Asante II,speaking to newsmen, expressed worry about the threats and harassment his subjects are going through and appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to intervene.

Nana Fobi Yiadom, Atutuohene of the Pitiku sub-Traditional Council, denied allegations that the traditional council had given land to the Fulani herdsmen and used the opportunity to appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to come to their aid.
