Sekyere Community Bank PLC Renews Commitment To Community Development

The Board and Management of Sekyere Community Bank PLC, have renewed their commitment to community development with renewed support for institutions in education, health, security and business.

The pledge was made during the commissioning of a new hospital entrance for Pope John Paul Medical Centre, Jamasi. The project was funded by the bank and coincided with its Annual General Meeting.

Dr. Stephen Antwi, Vice Board Chairman of the Bank, said the bank has already been contributing to its corporate social responsibility in its catchment areas.

He assured customers of flexible loan packages to help them grow their businesses.

_“We are here not just to take deposits, but to build our communities together,”_ he stated.

Mr. Michael Aidoo, CEO of Sekyere Community Bank PLC, welcomed the Bank of Ghana’s decision to transition community banks from rural banks, saying it is making community banking more attractive to the public.

He also urged Ghanaians to embrace a culture of savings to help prevent future financial crises, and reiterated the bank’s commitment to the people.

Dr. Berko Simon, Medical Superintendent of Pope John Paul Medical Centre, expressed gratitude to the board and management for responding to their request.

He said the new entrance will help improve security at the hospital and appealed to other institutions to emulate the bank by supporting the construction of nurses’ and doctors’ quarters.
