NPP Steering Committee Suspends Afigya Sekyere East and Asante Akyem Central Constituency Elections

The New Patriotic Party, NPP, Regional Steering Committee in the Ashanti Region has suspended constituency elections in Afigya Sekyere East and Asante Akyem Central.

The decision was taken after the committee reviewed reports on outstanding issues in both constituencies ahead of the scheduled internal polls.

According to the committee, the suspension is to allow for further engagements with stakeholders to address concerns and ensure a peaceful and credible process.

The NPP Ashanti Regional Steering Committee reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the party’s constitution and ensuring unity within the rank and file.

Both constituencies have been directed to hold on with all election-related activities until further notice from the regional secretariat.

Party members in the affected areas have been urged to remain calm as leadership works to resolve the matters.
