District Assembly,Traditional Council And Unit Committee Embark On Demolition Exercise for Road Expansion At Mpatuom

The Traditional Council of Mpatuom and the Unit Committee, with the support of the Amansie West District Assembly, have begun a demolition exercise to pave the way for the construction of internal road networks in the community.

Hon. Samuel Sakyi, Assembly Member for the Mpatuom West Electoral Area in the Amansie West District, speaking to newsmen during the exercise, said the growing population in the community demands internal road networks for the free movement of vehicles to help boost economic activities.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the government, through the District Assembly, to provide the community with social amenities such as security, a health centre, and better road networks.

Nana Asamoah Tia II, Chief of Mpatuom, called on the government to consider the efforts being put in by the Traditional Council and the community and to tar the poor road networks linking the community.

He used the media engagement to plead with affected residents to support the project, since its economic benefits are countless.

Mr Thomas Okrah Kwame, District Coordinating director speaking on behalf of the DCE, expressed the Assembly’s commitment to improve road networks in the district and called on the residents to cooperate with the assembly.

Some of the residents applauded the Traditional Council, the Assembly Member and his Unit Committee for the exercise.
