Ashanti NPP Vetting Ends Peacefully — 35 Candidates Cleared For Regional Elections

The Ashanti Regional NPP Elections Committee has cleared all 35 aspirants who picked nomination forms to contest various positions in the upcoming regional executive elections.

Mrs. Rita Talata Asobayiri, Chairperson of the Regional Elections Committee, disclosed this after a two-day vetting exercise.

She said no candidate was disqualified and the committee accepted all aspirants to contest, in line with the party’s aim of inclusiveness.

Mrs. Asobayiri urged candidates to campaign in a peaceful and polite manner as they engage delegates ahead of the polls.

_“Speak to your delegates with respect so they can come out and vote for you,”_ she advised.

She further announced that the Ashanti Regional NPP Executive Elections will be held on Saturday, 15th August 2026 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The Chairperson also cautioned aspirants to avoid the use of abusive language during and after the election, and to accept the outcome in good faith to keep the party united.
