TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES FOR NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP) NATIONAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE AND ELECTIONS, 2026

The Ashanti Regional Police Command wishes to inform the general public that selected roads in and around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, 3rd October 2026, to ensure public safety, effective traffic management and security during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Delegates Conference and Elections.

*1. ROAD CLOSURES*
The following roads leading to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic:
– Bridginia Traffic Lights to Carvery Methodist Church.
– Unity Oil Fuel Station to T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School.
– Is My Kitchen Restaurant to Bridginia Traffic Lights.

*2. TRAFFIC DIVERSION*
To facilitate the smooth flow of traffic, the following diversions will be implemented:
– Commercial vehicles from Amakom will proceed straight towards Asokwa.
– Vehicles from Asafo will be diverted at Bridginia Traffic Lights towards Asokwa or Amakom Traffic Lights.
– Commercial vehicles from LLL towards T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School will proceed straight to Amakom Traffic Lights.
– Vehicles from Kumasi City Mall towards Afful Nkwanta Junction will be diverted through Bulldog Restaurant.
– Traffic from Afful Nkwanta will proceed straight towards Kumasi City Mall.

*3. VEHICLE PARKING AND ACCREDITATION*
The following parking arrangements, agreed upon in consultation with the NPP Elections Committee, will apply:
– Former Presidents and the NPP Presidential Candidate will be the only vehicles permitted to park at the VVIP Car Park.
– Members of Parliament, former Members of Parliament, MMDCEs and CEOs will park at the Scoreboard Parking Area.
– Regional delegates arriving by bus and National Party Executives will park at the Heroes Park.
– Official Police vehicles will park at the Hockey Pitch.

The Command further wishes to emphasize that all delegates and vehicles attending the event must be duly accredited. Only duly accredited delegates and vehicles will be permitted access to the designated areas and parking facilities.

All motorists are required to display their accreditation prominently and comply strictly with the instructions of Police officers deployed to the event.

*4. TOWING AND ENFORCEMENT*
Motorists are advised not to park in unauthorized areas or attempt to drive through the designated roadblocks.

MTTD personnel will be stationed at strategic locations to direct motorists and enforce the traffic management arrangements. Towing trucks will also be stationed at designated points to remove wrongly parked or abandoned vehicles to the KMA Yard at the owners’ cost.

*5. PUBLIC COMPLIANCE*
The Ashanti Regional Police Command urges all motorists, delegates, party supporters and members of the public to strictly comply with the road closures, traffic diversions, parking arrangements and instructions of the Police.

The public is further advised to plan journeys in advance, use the designated alternative routes and avoid unauthorized parking around the event area.

The Command will not permit unauthorized access, parking or obstruction of designated routes and appeals for the full cooperation of all motorists and the general public to ensure safe, orderly and uninterrupted traffic movement and the peaceful conduct of the event.

The Command appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding and regrets any inconvenience the temporary traffic arrangements may cause.
