Bawumia and Asiedu Nketia Clash at SDA Mid-West Ghana Conference 40th Anniversary in Sunyani.

The Mid-West Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church marked its 40th anniversary in Sunyani under the theme _“Legacy of Faith – Celebrating 40 Years of Discipleship, Witnessing and Nation Building.”_ The event drew prominent political and traditional leaders, including NPP flagbearer Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and NDC National Chairman Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

The celebration attracted dignitaries including Omanhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Odeefuor Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II.

In his speech,Dr. Bawumia criticized the NDC government over what he called unfulfilled campaign promises. He cited the 24-hour economy policy, non-payment to cocoa farmers, high youth unemployment, and the return of _dumsor_. He urged Ghanaians to hold the government accountable.

Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, in his response, criticized Dr. Bawumia for bringing partisan politics into the 40th anniversary celebration of the SDA Church.

“If you lose fight outside home don’t bring your anger on your wife”he quized Dr Bawumia.

He cautioned political leaders to respect the sanctity of religious gatherings and focus on messages of unity and nation building.

The anniversary, held at Sunyani, brought together hundreds of SDA members from across the Mid-West Ghana Conference to reflect on four decades of discipleship, evangelism and community service.
