Members of the opposition New Patriotic Party in the Asante Akim Central Constituency have raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the ongoing polling station executive elections.

Aggrieved members who spoke to journalists expressed frustration over the process. They alleged that MP Hon. Anyimadu Antwi had interfered in a bid to impose his preferred candidates as polling station executives.

Mr. Gyekye Richardson, former polling station chairman for Methodist Primary, Ahenkrom in Konongo, spoke on behalf of the aggrieved members. He called on the NPP’s constituency and regional executives to intervene to ensure the smooth running of the elections.
Richardson also alleged that the just-ended new membership registration exercise faced similar irregularities in various communities across the constituency.
The allegations come as the NPP conducts internal polling station elections nationwide ahead of its broader party restructuring process. Polling station executives form the base of the party’s electoral structure and play a key role in mobilization and voting.
