Drobonso Community Day SHS to Admit First Students in 2026 Academic Year, Says Sekyere Afram Plains DCE

The District Chief Executive for Sekyere Afram Plains, Hon. Abubakar Issaka, has assured BECE candidates who began their exams that the E-Block Drobonso Community Day Senior High School will admit its first students in the 2026 academic year.

The NDC government led by President John Mahama cut the sod for the Drobonso Community Day SHS in 2015, but work stalled after the change of government. Stakeholders in the district have since made repeated appeals for the project’s completion.

Member of Parliament for Sekyere Afram Plains, Hon. Hajia Nasira Afrah, and DCE Hon. Abubakar Issaka said they have been working with central government to push the project forward since assuming office.

After visiting three examination centres with total students of 564, in Drobonso and Anyinofi, Hon. Issaka said the contractor is working “tirelessly” to finish the school before the 2026 academic year.

He added that electricity connection remains one of the major outstanding works and is currently underway.

He maintained that, hostel facility for both boys and girls have been completed to accommodate the students.

Mr. Charles Sarkodie, the District Director of Education, said support from the district assembly and the MP has helped equip BECE candidates through internal mock examinations.

He pledged to uphold the district’s reputation for integrity and to guard against examination malpractice.
