Wassa Saa BECE Candidates Transported by Aboboyaa After Vehicle Gets Stuck in Mud

2026 BECE candidates in Wassa Saa in the Wassa Amanfi East municipal,Western region, had to be transported to their exam centre at Nkonya on motorbikes after the vehicle carrying them got stuck on a muddy section of the Ntwetwena-Wassa Saa road.

The vehicle conveying the candidates became stuck on the deteriorated road link between Ntwetwena and Wassa Saa during the morning of the exam and with time running out, unit committee members and traditional leaders quickly organized motorbike riders to shuttle the students to the Nkonya examination centre so they would not miss their paper.

Motorbike riders and parents described the daily struggle of using the road, especially during the rainy season.

Oyerepa News reporter Joe Amoateng, who visited the community, observed that the situation had forced unit committee members to begin filling the road as a temporary measure to make it passable.

The unit committee members are now appealing to the government, through the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive to urgently rehabilitate the road.

Nana Bassayin, the Asafo Chief of Wassa Saa, speaking on behalf of traditional leaders, said they poor road network is not only disrupting education but also hampering economic activity in the area.

“We are pleading with government to come to our aid.

This road affects our children’s education and our livelihoods,” Nana Bassayin said.
