ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI OBUASI MINE EMPOWERS 36 PUPILS IN STEM ROBOTICS

AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, as part of its 10-year Socio-Economic Development Plan, has trained 36 pupils from eight basic schools across Obuasi East and Obuasi West in robotics.

At the programme, the students were tasked to use technology to solve societal challenges such as water and lighting systems, among others.

Speaking at the event, Manager Edmund Oduro Agyei said the five-day Boot Camp will go a long way to help the pupils become innovative and creative in society.

“The world is now global, so it’s high time students explore more ideas in robotics, apply them, and make changes in society,” he stated.

Obuasi Municipal Education Director, Mr. George Alfred Koomson, noted that the training will improve the thinking ability of the students and help bring out their potential. He added that STEM is now taking over across the world.
