Kokofu Abuoso, Bekwai Municipality — April 23, 2026
The Chief of Kokofu Abuoso in the Bekwai Municipality, Nana Amankwah Otuo Amponsem II, has appealed to students in his traditional area to take education seriously, stressing that it remains the most reliable path to success and personal development.

Speaking at a traditional council meeting, Nana Amankwah Otuo Amponsem II told Atinka News’ Obofo Michael that education is no longer optional in an increasingly digital and globalized world.
He cautioned young people who aspire to travel abroad not to neglect their studies, warning that opportunities outside the country often favor those with strong academic and technical backgrounds.

“The world today is run by technology and computers. If you cannot read, write, or adapt to new systems, you will be left behind, both at home and abroad,” he said.
The Abuosohene expressed concern over what he described as a growing attitude among some youth who prioritize migration over learning. He urged parents and guardians to instill discipline and encourage their children to value classroom education alongside vocational skills.

Nana Amankwah Otuo Amponsem II also reaffirmed his readiness to support students who demonstrate commitment and diligence in their studies. He said he is open to partnering with stakeholders to provide scholarships and learning materials to deserving pupils in the area.
“Education is the key that unlocks every door. I am ever ready to back any student who is willing to work hard and make themselves and the community proud,” he assured.

The council meeting brought together sub-chiefs, elders, and youth leaders, who echoed the chief’s call for stronger investment in education at the community level.
