Some youth members of the New Patriotic Party in the Asante Mampong Constituency have raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the internal election register, claiming eligible voters have been unfairly excluded.
Speaking to the media in Mampong, youth representative Richard Asare said several party members who qualify to vote discovered their names were missing from the official register. He described the development as deliberate and aimed at disenfranchising some members to influence the outcome of the internal elections.

According to Asare, the issue has created anger and suspicion among grassroots supporters, leading to tension and confusion in the constituency. The situation has forced the internal elections to be put on hold temporarily.
He appealed to the NPP Ashanti Regional executives to intervene and address the concerns before the matter escalates. Asare stressed the need for fairness, transparency, and unity within the party, warning that failure to resolve it could deepen divisions among supporters.
The aggrieved youth said they are prepared to pursue legitimate means to ensure all qualified members can participate in the party’s internal democratic process.
