
Earlier today, Hon. Boakye Agyarko met with the Eastern Regional Executive Committee at the Regional Party Office as part of his ongoing consultations with party stakeholders following his decision to contest for the position of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
As a proud son of the region, he used the occasion to formally seek the blessings and support of the Eastern Region for his candidacy.

He commended the Regional Executives and the entire Party in the region for their resilience and strong electoral performance in the 2024 elections, despite the Party’s challenges at the national level. He noted that the Eastern Region once again demonstrated its strategic importance to the NPP and urged members to remain steadfast in their commitment to the Party.
Hon. Agyarko stressed the need for unity, reconciliation, and collective purpose as the Party prepares for the 2028 general elections. He called on party faithful to forgive one another, close ranks, and work together in the supreme interest of the NPP, emphasizing that victory in 2028 will require a united and disciplined front.

He further cautioned against acts of indiscipline and conduct that undermine the Party’s image, warning that such tendencies could erode the gains made over the years if left unchecked. He pledged to strengthen discipline across all levels of the Party while championing improved welfare schemes for party officers and members, as well as structural reforms to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in party administration.
Touching on the future of the Party, Hon. Agyarko reiterated his commitment to fairness, transparency, and inclusiveness, including supporting the equitable implementation of opportunities promised by the Party’s 2024 Flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Regional Executives, led by Tony Osei Agyei, Regional Secretary, warmly received his message and assured him of their support.
Hon Agyarko was accompanied by Hon Alex Tetteh, former MP for Akontobra, George Krobea Asante, Deputy National Communications Director, Dr. Twum Berimah – Koranteng, Eastern Regional 1st Vice Chairman, Mr Frank Appiah, Eastern Regional 2nd Vice Chairman, Constituency Organizer, Upper Manya – Michael Kwadjo Ogbordjor, Constituency Chairman, Lower Manya – Emmanuel Siakwa, Constituency Chairman, Yilo Krobo – Alhaji Abubakar Teye, Constituency Chairman, Okere – Owiredu Kwanor, Constituency Chairman, Suhum, Frederick Ofosu, Former MCE, Lower Manya – Simon Kweku Tetteh and number of members of his campaign team.
