WORLD CUP TRIP: Minority wants Sports Minister summoned

First Deputy Minority Whip, Habib Iddrisu, is demanding an urgent briefing from the Sports Minister on Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alleging that Majority MPs have been allocated two slots each for supporters to be sponsored to attend the tournament, contrary to a presidential directive to secure tickets for Ghanaians resident in the host countries.

Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has dismissed a claim by Tolon MP Habib Iddrisu that government has allocated two World Cup slots to each Majority MP, adding that visa approvals fall outside the government’s control.

He was responding a demand by the Minority for an urgent briefing by the Sports Minister on Ghana’s World Cup participation.

The Majority refuted the claims and explained the issues.
