Bantama NPP Chairman, 1st Vice Chair Invited by Police Over Alleged Fight on Delegates’ Album

Tension has gripped the Bantama Constituency of the New Patriotic Party after an alleged physical altercation between the Constituency Chairman and the 1st Vice Chairman over discrepancies in the party’s delegates album.

The incident reportedly occurred at the constituency office, where Chairman Fiifi Mensah and 1st Vice Chairman Kingsley Atta exchanged blows. Both men have since been invited by Sofoline Police to assist with investigations.

Sources allege that Bantama MP, Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye, backed the 1st Vice Chairman’s move to delete some delegates’ names from the album – an action said to have triggered the confrontation. The MP has not issued an official statement on the matter.

The development has sparked heated debate among NPP members in Bantama, with some party faithful expressing concern that the dispute could widen internal divisions ahead of key party activities.

Sofoline Police confirmed both executives were invited to help with inquiries and have urged supporters to remain calm as investigations continue.

Party members are now calling on the Ashanti Regional and national NPP executives to intervene quickly to restore calm and unity in the constituency.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Fiifi Mensah said he was acting to uphold party rules and regulations by ensuring free and fair elections for polling station executives. He vowed to resist any attempt by Hon. Asenso Boakye to remove polling station executives from the album.
