ANGER ERUPTS IN KWAHU KOTOSO AS RESIDENTS PROTEST OVER MYSTERIOUS DEATHS OF THREE CHILDREN

Tension is mounting in Kwahu Kotoso in Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region as angry residents stormed the chief’s palace and shut down schools to protest the mysterious deaths of three children in the community. Residents, who suspect foul play, are demanding swift action from traditional authorities and security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice. Our correspondent reports.

Residents of Kwahu Kotoso in Afram Plains South,Eastern Region have taken to the streets in protest following the deaths of three children under mysterious circumstances within the past month.

According to residents, the children reportedly went missing at different times and were later found dead, raising fears and suspicions among community members. Many believe the deaths could be linked to ritual killings, although investigations are still ongoing.

In a show of anger and frustration, residents stormed the chief’s palace and forced the closure of both public and private schools in the community. Protesters demanded answers from traditional leaders, whom they accused of remaining silent over the incidents.

Some of the demonstrators were seen carrying cutlasses, sticks and other objects as they marched through the town. The situation became tense and required the intervention of police officers, who managed to restore calm and prevent violence.

Residents expressed concern over the recurring deaths and called on authorities to intensify investigations and ensure those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.

Responding to the concerns, the Akwamu hene of Kwahu Kotoso, Nana Ampomah Kwakye,* appealed to residents to remain calm and allow security agencies to carry out their investigations.

He stated that the traditional council shares the pain of the affected families and is committed to working with the police and other stakeholders to uncover the truth behind the deaths.

Nana Ampomah Kwakye further announced that a demonstration has been scheduled for Saturday to press for justice and increased security in the area. He expressed confidence that with the support of the security agencies and the community, those behind the killings would eventually be identified and brought to justice.
