Bomenhene Urges Young Girls To Abstain From Early Sex At Bragoro Festival

Nana Kwarteng Agyekumhene II, Bomenhene of Bomeng in the Sekyere Kumawu District, has urged young ladies to abstain from early sex to help secure a better future for themselves.

Speaking to Kofi Adade during the Bragoro Festival celebration, Nana Kwarteng Agyekumhene II said early sexual activity has negative effects that can destroy a girl’s future and education.

The Bragoro festival is traditionally observed to mark the passage of girls into womanhood and to promote chastity and responsible behavior.

As part of the festival, he outdoor-ed three virgin ladies in the community who have abstained from sex, using them as role models to encourage other young girls.

Queen Mother of Bomeng, also underscored the need for various communities to revive the Bragoro festival. She said it plays an important role in preventing many young girls from engaging in early sex.

The three honored ladies took the opportunity to advise their peers to abstain from early sex, noting that it can derail their career paths and educational goals.
