The Bosomtwe Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Addae Poku Aikins, has picked nomination forms to contest for the Ashanti Regional 2nd Vice Chairmanship* position.

The forms were picked on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Ashanti Regional Secretariat in Asokwa as the party officially opened nominations for regional executive positions.

Speaking to the media after filing, Mr. Aikins underscored the need for delegates to elect dedicated and competent leaders who can help the NPP win power in the 2028 general elections.
He criticized the administration of the current government, saying it has “totally failed Ghanaians, especially those in the Ashanti Region.”
According to him, the party needs strong regional executives who can build a formidable campaign team to canvass more votes for the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr. Aikins also accused the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Frank Amoakohene, of prioritizing cosmetic projects over real development.

“Instead of using fake paints to paint the Asokwa Interchange which was not built by his government, the Regional Minister should focus on promoting real development in the region,” he said.
He appealed to delegates to consider his experience as three terms constituency chairman to give him the mandate as 2nd Vice Chairman in the upcoming regional executive elections to help mobilize votes for Dr. Bawumia and the party.

Regional nominations are open from July 15 – 17, 2026,with elections scheduled for August 15– 16, 2026.
