Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah, former MP for Manhyia North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, is pleading with President John Dramani Mahama to extend presidential pardon to Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to him, the President should treat all citizens equally when it comes to matters of clemency.
Hon. Amankwah said President Mahama recently extended pardon to Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, and others, and should do same for Chairman Wontumi who is currently serving a prison sentence.
_“The President should extend the same pardon to Chairman Wontumi as an equal citizen of this country,”_ he appealed.
He noted that granting clemency to Wontumi will promote fairness and unity within the country’s political space.
