ACT IN 2 DAYS OR LOSE THE SEAT ANGRY NPP DELEGATES IN ATWIMA MPONUA ISSUE ULTIMATUM OVER STALLED EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS

‎Frustrated delegates and Electoral Area Coordinators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atwima Mponua Constituency have given the party’s National leadership a 2-day ultimatum to conduct the delayed Constituency Executive Elections or risk losing the seat to the NDC. The warning was issued during a press conference at the NPP office in Nyinahin.

‎Addressing the media, Dickson Owusu Addo, Communication Officer for Ade3mra Electoral Area, expressed deep concern over the continued delay.

‎He said the postponement is unjustified because a court injunction only affected 3 out of 38 Electoral Areas on the scheduled election day.

‎“It is therefore difficult for us to understand why the entire Constituency Executive Elections have been suspended when the legal challenge affected only a small fraction,” he stated.

‎Mr. Owusu Addo added that for several weeks, party members, delegates, aspirants, and coordinators have waited for direction from the National Steering Committee but received “no explanation and no roadmap.”

‎He warned that the prolonged silence has “created uncertainty, weakened party structures, and undermined the confidence of members who have sacrificed for the growth of the party.”

‎Delegates who attended the press conference also angrily voiced their frustrations.

‎One delegate said: “We are tired of the delays. The grassroots are suffering. If the NPP does not take action within 2 days, the NDC are eager and ready to take this seat.”

‎Another added: “We did all the work on the ground. Don’t sideline us now. Act now or we will regret it in 2028.”

‎The delegates emphasized that the grassroots remain the foundation of the NPP and any decision that ignores them threatens the party’s unity.

‎The delegates also rejected reports that the current Constituency Executives may be allowed to vote in upcoming Regional Elections despite their expired tenure, calling it inconsistent with the party’s constitution.
