Residents of Gomoa Obiri in the Gomoa West District have appealed to the government to urgently address the lack of basic social amenities in the community.
The Assembly Member for the area, speaking to the media, expressed concern over the shortage of teachers at the community’s basic school. According to him, the school has only six teachers catering for pupils from Kindergarten to Junior High School, a situation he said is adversely affecting academic performance and the quality of education.
He further mentioned the lack of potable water and the deplorable condition of roads within the community, noting that these challenges continue to hinder development and the daily activities of residents.

The Obaatan of Gomoa Obiri Nana Kwaw Ehuru also voiced his concern over the poor state of the school and the bad roads, calling on the government to take immediate action to improve conditions for the people, especially school children.

Meanwhile, the Nkyidomhen of the community Nana Kwabo Agyeman drew attention to the poor telecommunication network in the area, describing it as a major setback to communication and business activities.
He appealed to the government and relevant agencies to improve network coverage and rehabilitate the roads to enhance access to the community.
Residents say addressing these challenges will significantly improve education, communication, transportation, and the overall welfare of the people.
