The Minority Caucus has presented its nationwide Cocoa Farmers Engagement Report to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia after extensive consultations with farmers, purchasing clerks, chiefs and stakeholders across cocoa-growing regions.

Led by Minority Chief Whip Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the tour uncovered widespread concerns over reduced cocoa prices, delayed payments, lack of ready markets and the growing hardship facing farming communities.

Receiving the report, Dr. Bawumia assured farmers that their concerns would be thoroughly reviewed and incorporated into future policy proposals.
He reiterated the NPP’s commitment to protecting farmers, recalling that the Akufo-Addo administration maintained cocoa prices despite global market challenges and introduced key interventions that supported productivity and farmer welfare.

The Minority remains committed to amplifying the voices of farmers and advocating solutions to the challenges confronting the agricultural sector.
