The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, PURC, Committee in Afram Plains South District has engaged utility users in Ekye Amanfrom to listen to complaints about billing and meter-related challenges.
The community engagement brought together residents, church leaders, and private business owners who voiced out various grievances affecting their electricity supply.

A number of participants complained about alleged overbilling, and extortion of money by some individuals in the name of reconnection and disconnection. Others also raised concerns about the conduct of some ECG staff, saying some workers were rude and impatient even in situations that could have been resolved amicably.
Members of the PURC committee responded to the concerns, explaining consumer rights, proper billing procedures, and steps to report illegal charges. Some of the issues raised were addressed on the spot, while others were recorded for follow-up with the Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG.
