All Unauthorized Structures Blocking Waterways Will Be Pulled Down – Ashanti Regional Minister

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Frank Amoakohene has announced that all unauthorized structures blocking waterways across the region will be demolished to prevent future flooding.

Speaking at the Regional Coordinating Council’s Head of Department meeting in Kumasi, Hon. Dr Amoakohene said the RCC will not allow individuals whose actions endanger millions of residents to continue unchecked.

“Every unauthorized structure at various locations that has blocked waterways will be pulled down. We will not give room for any individual to cause problems for millions of people,” he stated.

The Minister added that the Regional Coordinating Council is collaborating with various Municipal and District Assemblies to desilt choked gutters, a move he said is already yielding positive results.

The meeting provided an opportunity for heads of departments including Education, Health, Roads, Social Welfare, and others to render accounts of their administration to the RCC.
