ARMED ROBBERS SHOOT MOMO VENDOR IN THE RIBS IN MASS ROBBERY AT AGONA MANKRON

A mobile money (MoMo) vendor is in critical condition after being shot in the ribs by armed robbers during a robbery attack at Agona Mankron Junction in the Agona East District of the Central Region.

According to information gathered, six heavily armed robbers stormed the Agona Mankron township and carried out a series of robberies, targeting mobile money vendors, shops, drivers, and commuters.

The robbers reportedly succeeded in robbing three MoMo vendors

They also attempted to rob a filling station, but the workers managed to escape before the attackers could carry out the operation.

Speaking to Newsmen, an eyewitness, Kojo Assan, said residents had received information that armed robbers had invaded the town and were attacking MoMo vendors, a filling station, drivers, and other commuters.

He further disclosed that the robbers moved from Agona Mankron towards Kwanyarko, where they blocked Bawjiase – SWEDRU oad and robbed commuters at gunpoint.

According to him, the entire community has been thrown into fear and panic as many residents have fled into nearby bushes, while others have sought refuge in the community cemetery to escape the indiscriminate gunfire.

Residents are appealing to the Ghana Police Service to deploy additional security personnel to the area to restore calm, arrest the perpetrators, and protect lives and property.
