GRIDCO OUTAGE AFFECTS ENTIRE ASHANTI REGION

The Ghana Grid Company Ltd, GRIDCo, has shut down all Bulk Supply Points (BSPs) in the Ashanti Region due to technical challenges.

The outage which started at *4:10am* today, Wednesday, August 20, 2026, affects the following areas:

1. RIDGE @ MAIN CM- K1BSP

2. ANWOMASO @ MAIN DJ – K2BSP

3. KONONGO @ MAIN CZ

4. OBUASI @ MAIN DB

5. ASANWINSO BSP

6. BIBIANI @ MAIN DS

7. DUNKWA @ MAIN DC

ECG says engineers from GRIDCo are working to resolve the issue. Customers in the affected areas are advised to treat all power lines as live and to switch off sensitive appliances.

Updates will be communicated as soon as power is restored by PURC, Ashanti Region.
