The Western North regional acting head for National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Oheneba Kwame Acheampong has briefed the general public on the rate of road accidents in the second quarter of the year 2026.

According to him, the region has recorded 86 road accidents in second quarter of the year, in these road accidents commercial vehicles involved were 40, private vehicles 26, motor bikes 78, Pedestrans knock downs were 13 and 28 people lost their lives through these accidents.
According to him comparing this years road accidents to 2nd quarter of last year road accidents has been on a rise in the year.
Outlining some factors that lead to these road accidents, He said poor road network, change of weather, broken down vehicles on roads and many other factors caused these accidents.
As part of reducing these accidents, He called on road users to be much careful when using the road.
Finally Oheneba Kwame Acheampong called on road users especially drivers to time to rest whenever they tired and avoid the intake of energy drinks as a way of giving them strength whenever they are tired.
