The Member of parliament for Afram Plains South and The DCE of Kwahu Afram Plains South District Assembly held a stakeholders meeting at Maamekrobo on Sunday, 30th August, 2026.

The meeting was attended by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Oliver Opoku Yeboah, the Former DCE, Hon. Evans Ntiri Kyei; Former NPP Constituency Chairman, Hon. Kofi Naado; NDC Women Organiser, Hon. Georgina Tengbom; Assembly Members, Hon. Ibrahim Rahim and Hon. Comfort Boame; the Maame-krobo Kronti-hene, Nana Enock Teye Soda; representatives of various tribal groups, the clergy, the Farmers Association, and citizens of Maame-krobo.
The meeting expressed concern over the unresolved murder recorded during the farmer-Fulani conflict and the recent murder of Mr. Eric Ntadi.
The DCE assured the gathering that the Police are working to bring the perpetrators to book and appealed for calm.

Nananom have released 50 acres of land for the establishment of a Military Base in Afram Plains South to enhance security.
Participants raised concern about rising drug abuse and reckless riding of motorcycles by the youth. The meeting resolved that this requires collaborative effort between the community and the Assembly.
The MP assured that he will engage DISEC to address the harassment of farmers by police on farm roads.
He also cautioned herdsmen against grazing on farmlands and stated that he will stand with farmers to defend their farms.
The MP and the Assembly pledged to ensure daily evacuation of waste containers at the Maamekrobo Market to improve sanitation.
The meeting resolved to constitute a Committee comprising tribal heads and professional groups to draft by-laws to ensure law and order in Maamekrobo for consideration by the General Assembly.
There was a cash donation amounting to GHC 12,000.00 by the MP and the DCE to support the process.
