BREAKING: Ejisu Assembly Members Move to Pass Vote of No Confidence in MCE Today

Ejisu, Ashanti Region — April 28, 2026,

Assembly Members of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly are scheduled to vote on a motion of no confidence in the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Jerryne Asante, today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, http://Odonkoanews.com has learned.

Sources within the Assembly indicate that the vote is set for today’s sitting. The grounds for the motion have not yet been officially disclosed.

This development comes a day after reports of a confrontation between some NDC constituency executives and the MCE at her office over an alleged warehouse dispute. It is unclear if today’s motion is connected to that incident.

Under the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), a vote of no confidence in an MMDCE requires a two-thirds majority of all Assembly Members present and voting. If passed, the President may revoke the MCE’s appointment.

Attempts to reach Hon. Jerryne Asante and the Presiding Member of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly for comment were unsuccessful at press time. The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has not issued a statement.

http://Odonkoanews.com is monitoring the Assembly sitting. The outcome of the vote is expected later today.
