AFRAM PLAINS SOUTH DCE SECURES 50 LIFE JACKETS FOR EKYE AMANFROM BOAT OPERATORS

Ekye Amanfrom – The District Chief Executive for Afram Plains South, Hon. Moses Tangme, has lobbied 50 life jackets for boat operators at Ekye Amanfrom.

Following the recent transport crisis caused by a faulty ferry, passengers have resorted to heavy use of boats to cross the Afram River. Boat operators ferrying passengers from Ekye Amanfrom to Kwahu Adawso and nearby villages had no life jackets to safeguard lives in case of accidents.

Their plight was highlighted by the media through media in Afram Plains during coverage of the faulty ferry and the risk to passengers crossing without life-saving gear.
The DCE took up the matter and lobbied the office of the Eastern Regional Directorate of NADMO, led by Hon. Kudjo Adukpo. He secured 50 life jackets and handed them over to the boat operators at Ekye Amanfrom early this morning, in collaboration with the District and Zonal NADMO coordinators.
The operators expressed gratitude for the support from NADMO through the DCE and pledged to put the life jackets to proper use.
