YABIW ANKOBEA ASAFO COMPANY PROTESTS INSTALLATION OF NEW CHIEF

The Ankobea Asafo Company of Yabiw, led by Supi Atta Kakra in the Shama District of the Western Region, has staged a demonstration with red flags to oppose the installation of a new chief.

Supi Atta Kakra warned opinion leaders backing Mr. Raf Mahoney Asafuah Kakra to stop the process or advise him to withdraw in order to avoid violence. “We will not allow Raf Asafuah Kakra to be installed as chief at Yabiw,” he stated.

He called on the opinion leaders to remove Asafuah Kakra from indoors along with his palanquin.

He explained that the matter has been submitted to the Shama Traditional Council but they have not received any response.

Safohen Peter Kobinah Sarkoh said the Ankobea Asafo Company, led by Supi Atta Kakra, is staging a serious red-band protest against the installation. “We will not allow the installation of Raf Asafuah Kakra as the new chief at Yabiw,” he added.

He further called on opinion leaders backing Asafuah Kakra to remove him from indoors with his palanquin to avoid uproar in the community.

All efforts to reach Mr. Raf Asafuah Kakra for his side of the story were unsuccessful.
