42-Year-Old Farmer Hospitalized After Self-Harm Incident at Aworowa

Aworowa, Bono East Region — April 20, 2026

A 42-year-old cocoa farmer and basket weaver, identified as Kofi Assum, is receiving emergency care following a self-harm incident at Aworowa in the Techiman South Municipality.

Citing Radio247, residents discovered Assum with serious injuries on Sunday and transported him to a nearby health facility. His medical condition had not been confirmed at press time.

The incident has drawn concern from community members, with several residents highlighting the need for stronger mental health awareness and support systems in the municipality.

The Techiman South Police have not yet issued an official statement. Investigations are ongoing.
