Boayaahene Nana Appiagyei Danka Urges Continuity in Gov’t Projects to Accelerate Development

 

Boagyaa, Bosome Freho District — April 28, 2026

The Chief of Boagyaa, *Nana Appiagyei Danka*, who also serves as *Otumfuo Dabehene*, has called on politicians to prioritize the continuity of development projects started by successive governments, saying the practice of abandoning them hinders national growth.

Speaking at the official commissioning of a Tropical Laboratory Facility at the Dunkura Health Center, Nana Appiagyei Danka said Ghana’s development is often set back when new administrations abandon projects initiated by their predecessors.

“New governments frequently prefer to initiate fresh projects instead of completing existing ones, leading to a proliferation of stalled and uncompleted infrastructure across the country,” he said. He described the trend as “counterproductive to national progress.”

 

The traditional leader emphasized that ensuring continuity would maximize the use of limited national resources and guarantee that communities fully benefit from developmental interventions. “Sustained commitment to ongoing projects would significantly improve the living conditions of citizens and foster long-term socio-economic development,” he noted.

 

Nana Appiagyei Danka specifically urged government to ensure the timely completion of the *Agenda 111 hospital project*, particularly in underserved districts such as *Bosome Freho*. He said completing such health infrastructure would help save lives and improve access to quality healthcare for residents.

 

The Tropical Laboratory Facility at Dunkura Health Center was fully financed through a collaboration between *Millennium Promise Alliance* and *Heart to Heart International*. The chief described it as “a significant milestone” and the first of its kind in the locality.

 

He encouraged residents of Boagyaa and surrounding communities to patronize the facility, noting it has the potential to greatly enhance diagnostic services in the area.
