Government Meets Large-Scale Miners to Advance GANRAP Rollout

Government has engaged large-scale mining companies to advance the rollout of GANRAP the Ghana National Gold Reserves Accumulation Programme.

The meeting was co-chaired by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah. Discussions focused on strengthening Ghana’s gold reserves and stabilizing the cedi.

Industry leaders attended the engagement, including Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board. The meeting was described by participants as constructive.

GANRAP is government’s initiative to increase domestic gold holdings by sourcing more locally mined gold for national reserves. The program is seen as part of broader efforts to shore up foreign exchange buffers and ease pressure on the cedi.
