No Mobile network, No Vote:Aboaboso Residents Protest

Residents of Manso Aboaboso and surrounding communities in the Amansie South District took to the streets this morning to protest the lack of mobile network connectivity and the poor state of roads in the area.

The demonstration involved residents from Manso Aboaboso, Manukrom, Brichakrom, Mensakrom, Adagya,Nyamebekyere and other adjoining communities.

Protesters said the absence of reliable mobile coverage has made it difficult for government workers, including teachers and health workers, to accept postings to the area, affecting education and healthcare delivery.

The residents maintained that, unless they clim trees in the community to be connected to mobile networks to speak to their families and relatives.

The aggrieved residents vowed not vote if their situation continuing to 2028.

The Assembly Member for Manso Aboaboso, Hon Samuel Agyemang and his unit committee members highlighted the daily challenges residents face, from being unable to make emergency calls to missing out on government information. They have called on the government to urgently intervene.

Nana Amponsah Kodua II, Chief of Aboaboso and Mawerehene of the Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council, said the poor mobile network also prevents him from receiving timely updates from the traditional council.

He also complained about the deteriorating road links to the community, which he said further isolates residents.
