
Smart Mickey Mining Firm has donated two vehicles to the Bekwai Adontenhene, Nana Opoku Ababio, and the Akatakyieso Sub-Traditional Council to support chieftaincy activities in the area.

Presenting the vehicles,the CEO of the mining firm,Mr. Michael Akwasi Owusu, popularly known as Lion, said the company remains committed to supporting chieftaincy affairs and community needs.

He noted that Smart Mickey, as a local mining firm, regularly contributes to education, health care, security, and annual support for widows and the needy.
He added that the company has already constructed several police posts and donated a vehicle to the Ashanti South Regional Police Command to strengthen security.
Mr Owusu also outlined plans to establish a Senior High School, construct a court complex, and commission a police station with quarters in the community.

Receiving the vehicles, Nana Opoku Ababio, Adontenhene of the Bekwai Traditional Council, thanked Owusu for his commitment to local development. He appealed to government to extend the support given to paramount chiefs and queen mothers to divisional and sub-chiefs, saying they play a key role in chieftaincy affairs and national development.


Nana Nuako Nuamah, Chief of Akatakyieso, also commended Mr Owusu for his ongoing support. He said the vehicles would ease the challenges chiefs face in responding to their duties.
