Ghanaian Youth Urged to Stop Insulting Elders on Social Media

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu,popularly known as Tontokrom DC, a leading member of Muslim Youth Wing at Manso Tontokrom,in the Amansie South district,Ashanri region,has urged Ghanaian youth to stop insulting elderly people on social media.

Speaking to journalists after Eid al-Adha prayers, he said disrespectful behavior online has negative effects on young people and society.

He encouraged fellow Muslim youth to follow Islamic teachings that promote respect for elders.

Mr. Iddrisu also called on political leaders to stop encouraging youth to use money to hide behind politics and insult opponents.

He further appealed to both Muslims and Christians to maintain peaceful relations to sustain national unity and peace in Ghana.
