NSS Ashanti Honours Institutions, Individuals for Outstanding Support

The National Service Authority, Ashanti Region, has honoured institutions and individuals for their outstanding support to the Authority over the past year.

Speaking to newsmen at the ceremony, Ashanti Regional Director Mr. Emmanuel Reagen Fynn commended the Member of Parliament for Nsuta-Kwamang-Pepeso Constituency, Hon. Adelaide Ntim, for donating office chairs and benches to the Regional Directorate.

Mr. Fynn also praised several Metropolitan/Municipal/District Chief Executives for their contributions, including Hon.Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, MCE for Juaben; Hon. Anwel Sadat, MCE for Oforikrom; Hon. Kamal Deen, MCE for Asokwa; and Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister.

Dwelling Company Limited, producers of Voltic drinking water, were also recognised for offering opportunities to national service personnel attached to the company.

The awards ceremony formed part of the Authority’s annual conference and elections to elect new Ashanti Regional Executives of the National Service Personnel Association, NASPA.

Addressing the newly elected executives, Mr. Fynn urged them to use their tenure to advance the Authority’s agenda, particularly in skills training and entrepreneurship for service personnel.

Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Mayor, Hon. Richard Ofori Boadi, popularly known as “King Zuba”, who also addressed the gathering, lamented that current university programmes are churning out more job applicants than entrepreneurs.

He called for a curriculum shift toward practical, skills-based training to equip graduates to create jobs and grow the economy.

Mr Zakaria Abdullai, headmaster of Obuasi senior high/Technical school speaking on behalf of Juaben MCE, Hon Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, urged the personnel to take advantage of their services to exhibit commitment to the national development.
