Welder Apprentice Arrested for Alleged Attempted Beheading of Younger Brother at Kwahu Nkwatia

Police at Kwahu Nkwatia in the Kwahu East District have arrested a 24-year-old welder apprentice, identified only as Kwadwo, for allegedly attacking and attempting to behead his younger brother in a nearby forest.

According to eyewitnesses, residents heard distressing cries from the forest and rushed to the scene, where they found the suspect with a sharp object, attempting to sever his brother’s head. They intervened and overpowered him before handing him over to police.

Unit Committee member for the area, Esther Kissiwaa, confirmed the incident and said the victim was rescued with injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Nkwatia Government Hospital. She added that the suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind the alleged attack.
