NADMO Weija Gbawe is appealing to all residents living along the Weija Dam Spill way to move to higher grounds :

*What’s Happening*

1. *Heavy inflows* from the Nsawam area into Weija Dam Reservoir is threatening to exceed the maximum level .

2. *The Management of the Dam are spilling the excess water* to protect the integrity of the dam .

Three spill gates are opened at 30 inches each spilling at high intensity .

3. Communities downstream the Weija Dam are likely to be inundated.

*What To Do Right Now*

1. *Residence must Leave low areas immediately* — Don’t wait to see the water. Move to higher ground.

2. *Alert neighbors* — Especially the elderly, children, and those without phones. Knock on doors.

3. *Carry essentials only* — IDs, medicines, phone, charger, small cash, key documents in waterproof bag.

4. *Avoid crossing flood waters* — 6 inches can knock you down. 2 feet can carry a car.
