The Ejura Sub-Traditional Council in the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipality has officially launched the 2026 Yam Festival to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the area.

Speaking at the launch, Barima Osei Hwedie II, Ejurahene, said this year’s celebration is designed to bring together all key stakeholders to formulate development plans for the Ejura Traditional Council.

He added that the festival will also create an avenue for Ejura citizens living outside the community and abroad to return home and contribute to the development of the area.
The Ejurahene further stressed the need for the community to establish a Babies’ Home through a Needy Foundation to support vulnerable children in the municipality.
Barima Osei Hwedie II therefore called on his subjects to support the agenda to ensure the success of the festival and the overall progress of Ejura.
