Hon Prince Manu Morris Presents Items To Persons With Disabilities

The District Chief Executive for Amansie West, Hon. Prince Manu Morris, has reaffirmed the NDC government’s commitment to improving the welfare of Persons With Disabilities in the district.

Speaking during the presentation of items to 75 Persons With Disabilities, Hon. Morris said government has increased the District Assemblies Common Fund allocation for PWDs from *2% to 5%*, describing it as a clear demonstration of care for their future.

He urged beneficiaries to make good use of the support given to them by government and cautioned that anyone found to be misusing the items will face sanctions.

The items presented included deep freezers, fufu pounding machines, and popcorn machines.

Mr. Isaac Agyemang,Chairman of the Federation of Persons With Disabilities in the district, expressed gratitude to the assembly for the continuous support.

He also urged his fellow PWDs to use the items effectively to become self-reliant.

He however used the occasion to appeal to the authorities to ensure that, newly constructed facilities are disabled friendly to enable them access the facilities.
