30-Year-Old Man Apprehended For Stealing Goats At Djomoa In Upper Manya Krobo

A 30-year-old man has been apprehended by residents at Djomoa in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region for allegedly stealing livestock.

The suspect an ex-convit , identified as Kofi Daniel, also known as Okorley, was found in possession of three goats and a sheep.

According to residents, when he was first confronted, Okorley claimed he was going to sell the animals and later changed his story, saying he was going to give them to one Musa at Sawa, a nearby village, today.

His conflicting explanations raised further suspicion among the residents, who did not believe his account.

The residents are said to have taken Musa’s phone number to verify his claims. Upon further interrogation, Okorley later admitted that he had indeed stolen the goats.

The suspect has been handed over to the Asesewa police command, while investigations continue to identify the rightful owners of the animals.

Ghana Police Service have commended the vigilance of the community in apprehending the suspect, noting that theft of livestock has been a growing concern in the area.
