Drivers and traders at Anloga Junction demonstrated this morning to express their displeasure over attempts by the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly to sell a portion of land meant for a taxi rank to private individuals.
The aggrieved drivers and traders say the move will affect their livelihoods.

Mr. Obed Kwame Kataka, Chairman of the Plywood Sellers Association, made a passionate appeal to the Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Frank Amoakohene, to intervene, as the Assembly is attempting to divert the land to a private developer.

Mr. Yaw Ofori, spokesperson for the Tomato Sellers Association, also called on authorities to protect the land from private interests, as it is crucial for their tomato business.
