OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE (MCE)
ASANTE AKIM NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY
RE: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON FALSE ALLEGATIONS LEVELLED AGAINST HON. SARAH AMOAKOAA
Our attention has been drawn to *false and misleading allegations* made by the Constituency Chairman, *Mr. Peter Abaje* and his team at *Domeabra – Juansa* in the Owerriman Zone, to the effect that the Hon. MCE, *Mrs. Sarah Amoakooa*, receives *10% of every government contract* and has accumulated *GH¢28 billion (old Ghana Cedis) / GH¢2.8 million (new Ghana Cedis)* belonging to NDC delegates.
As Secretary to the MCE, I have been directed to clarify as follows:
*1. ON THE ALLEGED GH¢28 BILLION / GH¢2.8 MILLION:*
This allegation that the Hon. MCE has siphoned GH¢28 billion (GH¢2.8 million) from the party is *completely false, baseless and misleading.* No such amount has ever been received or accumulated by the Hon. MCE.
*2. ON THE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY COMMON FUND:*
The claim that the MCE has siphoned money from the Common Fund shows a *lack of understanding of public financial management.* The Common Fund has *specific, statutory allocations and strict disbursement procedures* guided by the *Public Procurement Act* and approvals from the General Assembly, the Regional Coordinating Council and other state institutions. It is *not a fund that any individual can withdraw or steal from at will.*
*3. ON THE INTEGRITY OF THE MCE:*
*Hon. Sarah Amoakooa* states unequivocally that she has *no intention whatsoever to steal from the public purse.* She remains committed to *transparency, accountability and dedicated service* to the people of Asante Akim North.
*APPEAL TO ALL ASPIRANTS:*
The Hon. MCE is *not contesting for any position* at the constituency level. She appeals to all aspirants to *desist from personal attacks, character defamation and the use of her name or office* for their campaigns.
Campaigns should be *issue-based.* All aspirants should tell delegates *what they have done for the party, what they will do when given the mandate, and why they deserve their vote.* Delegates should be allowed to vote based on *issues, records and vision, not on personal attacks and falsehoods.
CONCLUSION:
To the best of her knowledge and in all her actions, Hon. Sarah Amoakooa has not conducted herself in a way that portrays support for any particular candidate. *She remains a mother for all.
However, anyone who continues to use her name or office for personal political interest may compel her to *visit the branches herself to set the record straight in person.
She wishes all aspirants well and calls for *unity, truth and development.
Signed,
*Jacob Ampomah*
*Secretary to the Hon. MCE*
*Asante Akim North*
